Using a pendrive or USB to install Windows makes the process of installation much faster. Also you would prefer to carry a USB instead of DVD as your installation media. So lets see how we can create a USB device as boot device for installing windows 7.
We will do this using the tool provided by windows itself. Download it from HERE its an .exe file.
Lets see the second option first as it is pretty much self guided. Download the .exe file from windows and install it.
You should have a DVD of windows 7 or .iso image file in your PC.
After installation a shortcut icon will be created in your desktop, double click and open it.
You will be presented a below screen user interface.
- The step 1 is to select a .iso file, it accepts only .iso files, so we recommend that you convert yours if it's in a different DVD image format.
- Step two is straightforward simply choose a USB device.
- In step three, make sure that you are selecting the correct USb device. Back up your contents in USB if you have any. The tool will prompt you if it detects data on the device. Once your data is backed up elsewhere, click Erase USB Device. If you continue you will get another prompt warning you that all the data will be wiped. Click Yes to continue.
